YouTube Library Video

Perhaps not the most "informative" or "educational" but its fun - Dewey is hard going.

How cool is this !! So many technologies in one place - so interactive

Learning 2.0

Found this while trawling through a wiki-
http://plcmclearning.blogspot.com/
This is the blog for the original 2.0 Learning program
This program was originally developed and launched for the staff at the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County in August 2006

Welcome to the original Learning 2.0 Program. This site was created to support PLCMC's Learning 2.0 Program; a discovery learning program designed to encourage staff to explore new technologies and reward them for doing 23 Things. Since the program's launched, it has fostered Learning 2.0 programs all over the world. If you are interested in duplicating or modifying this program for your organization, please see Program Notes on About Page and contact Helene Blowers for information.

WIKI'S

This is genius - what a time saver - a great way for groups to stay in touch and update without non stop emailing or phoning to everyone. You get to see what everyone is doing/thinking and add your say.
I think we can use it when we are working on group assignments and we all have trouble meeting up to discuss work. That way everyone is on the same page and can see how the others are tracking.

Also use it for training manuals and DIY guides - users can leave a comment on how good!!! it was plus can be easily assessed
Library Uses
Could be a paper saver - instead of comment/feedback forms to fill in -go on to wiki and leave your comment there.
List of suggested books library can buy - students can add their wishlist here.
Use to canvas opinions on various library functions/activities/resources, etc offered
Good Wiki

FLICKR

Went online and found this blog - never thought you could use flickr in libraries like this - maybe once I get my head around all this new technology I can be so creative too.

22 Ideas for Using Flickr in Libraries…01.18.10 A solo librarian's blog about his experiences setting up a special library & digital libraries from scratch…and more
Thought this was really useful- lots of 2.0 technology in his archives too - found such intersting info - where I am going to find time to read this all!

Flickr also has a App Garden link on the Homepage under Other Options - great ideas to be creative with your photos and free - as most were developed by Flickr users.
Also go to

Free apps to make motivational posters/magazine covers and more using your Flickr photos

DELICIOUS
At first when I started looking in this, I thought that I wouldn't use it much. This is only because I am compulsive about saving any URL's when I am working on an assignment, so when I open up the document all my notes and URL's are there in one place. All my course notes are saved on my USB sticks and on my desktop so I felt that this wasn't really for me.
BUT on further reflection and after signing up for my account and a good look around, I am converted.
It is a really good way to get access to information you need quickly and see what others have done.Once again if you are working in a group and want to share info and progress, this is the way to go.

I also found this article which really gives you a good oversight of how useful it can be

I found this Bookmark:    WebTools4U2Use
it is relevant to our course and provides lots of info - also has RSS feeds - so will be going back to it.

African Elephant 3

African Elephant 3 by Xevi V
African Elephant 3, a photo by Xevi V on Flickr.
This made me homesick for where I come from - we have the Addo Elephant Park nearby and it looks very similar to this pic.Have fond memories of visiting the reserve and spending a day in the bush.
